Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

1. Authorization and Transport

The carrier and driver, jointly and separately, are authorized to operate and transport the customer’s motor vehicle from the pickup location to the destination. While we strive to meet the estimated pickup and delivery dates, no dates are guaranteed. Changes may occur due to carrier schedules, mechanical failures, weather conditions, or acts of God. AMERICAN HAUL LLC will not be held liable for any charges or losses resulting from delays, including but not limited to airline tickets or rental car fees. The customer will receive the carrier’s schedule at the time of dispatch.

2. Exclusivity

Customers agree not to contract another broker or carrier during the time corresponding to their selected shipping option. Any customer found to be working with another broker or carrier during this period will forfeit their non-refundable deposit.

3. Door-to-Door Transport

Carriers provide door-to-door transport when accessible. If the pickup or delivery location is restricted due to narrow streets, low-hanging trees, or tight turns, the driver may request that the customer meet at a nearby large parking area, such as a grocery store.

4. Personal Items

Carriers are not licensed or insured to transport personal or household items, although we understand you may need to store some items in the vehicle. The carrier is not liable for damage caused by excessive or improper loading of personal belongings. These items must be placed in the trunk and must not exceed 100 lbs. Any exceptions must be discussed and approved by AMERICAN HAUL LLC in advance. Misrepresentation of personal belongings may result in a price adjustment and/or a dry run fee of $150 if the shipment differs from expectations. A $75 rescheduling fee will be applied if the vehicle is not ready as indicated by the shipper. If the shipper is unavailable, an alternate representative must be present for the pickup or delivery.

5. Vehicle Condition

Vehicles must be tendered to the carrier in good running condition with no more than half a tank of fuel. The carrier will not be responsible for damage caused by leaking fluids, freezing, exhaust systems, or untied antennas. Any claims for loss or damage must be noted and signed on the condition report at the time of delivery.

6. Insurance Coverage

Carriers have active liability insurance coverage ranging from $300,000 to $1 million for intrastate and interstate transports, respectively. Any damage incurred during transport is the responsibility of the carrier, not AMERICAN HAUL LLC. All contracted carriers carry insurance to cover damage caused by the driver or theft during transport. Damage claims must be noted at delivery, signed for on the Bill of Lading, and submitted in writing within 15 days.

7. Rescheduling and Cancellations

A $75 rescheduling fee will be applied if the vehicle is not ready as agreed upon by the shipper. If the vehicle becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, AMERICAN HAUL LLC will not refund the deposit. Cancellations made 7 days before the scheduled pickup date will incur a $100 cancellation fee.

8. Inspection Report (Bill of Lading)

Under no circumstances should a customer release or receive a vehicle from the carrier without an inspection report (Bill of Lading/BOL), regardless of time of day or weather conditions. Failure to complete this process may prevent the customer from filing a damage claim. Carrier insurance only covers damages resulting from the carrier’s negligence, which must be reported within 24 hours of delivery and noted on the Bill of Lading. Failure to notate damages releases the carrier from liability and will void any damage claim.

9. Non-Operational Vehicle Fee

A non-operational vehicle fee of $150 will be charged for vehicles that are not in running condition. This fee will be included in the final quote provided by AMERICAN HAUL LLC. If the vehicle becomes non-operational during transport, this fee will be added to the original quote.

10. Service and Fees

AMERICAN HAUL LLC will provide a carrier to transport the vehicle as promptly as possible but does not guarantee pickup or delivery on specified dates. AMERICAN HAUL LLC is not responsible for rental car costs or mechanical failures during transport. The customer agrees to pay the quoted price and will not dispute or charge back the payment once the vehicle has been delivered. This agreement is subject to the carrier’s tariff and the uniform Bill of Lading, which is available upon request.

11. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware. Any legal action arising from this agreement must be filed in Delaware courts. AMERICAN HAUL LLC‘s liability is limited to the amount of its broker’s fee. By signing this agreement, the customer submits to the jurisdiction of Delaware courts and waives the right to jurisdiction in any other location.

12. Payment Terms

The customer authorizes AMERICAN HAUL LLC to charge a down payment via credit/debit card or check. The remaining balance must be paid in full upon delivery via cash, cashier’s check, or money order to the carrier.
